How to wash your down jacket

Care and washing of your Alma Jacket

Down is an organic material and requires gentle treatment. We always recommend removing minor stains with a damp cloth so the jacket is not washed unnecessarily.
If the jacket needs to be washed, it should be done in a newer washing machine using a delicate or down program.

Wash at 30 °C with a detergent designed for down, and avoid fabric softener. Choose a low spin speed of approximately 600–800 rpm, and preferably run an extra rinse cycle.
Dry the jacket thoroughly in a tumble dryer at low heat together with 2–3 dryer balls/tennis balls.

Take it out during the drying process, shake it, and distribute the down with your fingers.
Important: The jacket must be completely dry. Incorrect washing or drying can cause the down to clump together, develop an odor, and lose its loft and insulating ability. Remember to reproof the jacket after washing to restore its water-repellent surface.
